Info: From the instructions: This calculator combines the problem-solving capability of a small computer with the operating ease of a desk calculator. It’s so simple to use, in fact, that with just a little practice you’ll be solving problems far beyond the capability of ordinary calculators. Because a large part of the work done on desktop calculators is incidental calculation, the calculator must be simple and straightforward in operation. Casual users must also be able to operate the calculator with a minimum of hardware orientation. The logic of the MONROE calculator was designed with simplicity in mind – eliminating the need for complicated register addressing to perform calculations. However, since the calculator was designed for the scientific/engineering market, more than just the basic arithmetic functions are provided. Functions such as logarithms, sine/cosine, square root, and reciprocals are extremely valuable in routine calculations. These functions, along with the 1610’s other keyboard functions, were chosen as those most valuable to the user in day-to-day incidental computations.
